🔄 Trade Rumors and Speculations
Another week, another list of possible moves happening around the NBA. What does the Fox say? Maybe that he wants out of Sacramento.
☀ Phoenix Suns Exploring Jusuf Nurkic Trade
The Phoenix Suns are actively exploring trade possibilities involving center Jusuf Nurkic and a first-round pick to acquire a high-level rotation player. Nurkic's recent comments and his relationship with the head coach may have impacted his trade value, potentially complicating efforts to move him before the deadline.
🦖 Toronto Raptors Considering Bold Moves
The Toronto Raptors are generating buzz with potential significant moves ahead of the trade deadline. Reports suggest the Raptors are showing interest in players like Brandon Ingram and could be involved in facilitating a trade for Jimmy Butler. This indicates a shift towards adding impactful players to pair with Scottie Barnes, aiming to reestablish the team as a contender.
☀ Beal Trade Speculation
Speculation is still surrounding the thoughts of Beal being moved. He could be in a package with Nurkic involving multiple teams. The thought of what team would want him is still tough to pinpoint though, especially with his no trade clause. If Butler does head to the valley, which he has made it clear he wants to, Beal would almost certainly have to be on the move.
Breaking the Press: A Crazy Few Days
🙃 Luka Dončić Lands in L.A. Somehow.
In a wild move, the Los Angeles Lakers acquired Luka Dončić from the Dallas Mavericks, sending Anthony Davis and future picks to Dallas. While the trade shocked the NBA world, reports reveal the Mavs were hesitant to commit to Luka’s looming five-year, $345 million super-max contract due to concerns over his long-term conditioning. Mavericks ownership reportedly feared Dončić could face similar issues to Zion Williamson, whose struggles with staying in shape have impacted his availability and performance.
Makes you wonder about this video now…..
Hot Take:
Dallas is taking a major risk by betting on Anthony Davis’ health, but their concerns about Luka’s longevity may not be unfounded. Meanwhile, if Dončić stays motivated in L.A., the Lakers might have just secured the league’s next MVP and revived their dynasty potential. This trade could either haunt the Mavs for years or prove they made the tough decision at the right time.
🦊 De'Aaron Fox to the Spurs
In a major three-team trade, the Sacramento Kings sent De'Aaron Fox to the San Antonio Spurs, acquiring Zach LaVine from the Chicago Bulls. The deal also involved multiple picks and role players switching teams. The Spurs aim to pair Fox with Victor Wembanyama to create a dynamic backcourt, while the Kings gain LaVine’s scoring and future assets. The Bulls, meanwhile, focus on role-player depth and regaining draft flexibility.
Hot Take:
This is a gamble for the Spurs, betting on Fox and Wembanyama to deliver playoff success. If LaVine thrives in Sacramento, the Kings may come out as the true winners.
📈 Standout Performances
Historic Triple-Doubles
LeBron James delivered a masterclass at Madison Square Garden, posting 33 points, 11 rebounds, and 12 assists in the Lakers' 128-112 win over the Knicks. At 40 years old, he became the oldest player to record a 30-point triple-double23.
Nikola Jokić dominated with 28 points, 13 rebounds, and 17 assists against the Hornets, securing his NBA-leading 22nd triple-double this season. He sealed the win with critical plays in the final minute.
Clutch Game-Winners
Bam Adebayo sank a buzzer-beating jumper over a double team to lift the Heat over the Spurs 105-103. He finished with 30 points, marking his third career walk-off winner.
Scoring Explosions
Aaron Wiggins erupted for 41 points in the Thunder’s 144-110 rout of the Kings, shooting 16-of-22 from the field.
Tyrese Maxey dropped 37 points and 7 assists in a narrow loss to the Nuggets, extending his streak of 30+ points to five games.
Trae Young nearly willed the Hawks to victory with 34 points and 17 assists, though they fell 132-127 to the Pacers

🧐 Upcoming Top 25 College Basketball Matchups:
February 3 – February 9, 2025
The upcoming week features several crazy matchups between teams ranked in the AP Top 25 as well as some good NBA matchups. Could these be the last time you see some of these guys on their respective teams before the trade deadline?
Here are the games I will not be missing.
🌶️ Upcoming Drops of the Week
I mentioned before, but I have the Sabrina 2’s in the coconut milk color, and they are currently my favorite shoe to play in. I also use them for indoor workouts and they are great, kinda like a more cushioned version of a Nike Metcon if you have ever used them. I go back and forth with pink colorways, but I feel like they work for these.
Anyone else love simple white and black basketball shoes? I think I dig them just for the fact they can match up with your socks much more nicely. I actually bought a pair of the AE1 lows, in the metallic color, I had to size up to a 14 for them to feel comfortable but even then I wasn’t a big fan. I’m pretty sure that is a hot take considering everyone else I know loves them. I wish I liked the fit because they are one of my favorite looking shoes I have seen in a long time.
I remember when these first dropped and thinking I had to have them. I never ended up getting them but the silhouette was so different and intriguing. I think these will be gone very quickly, like most Kobe’s, but now that I am older, I feel like I would need 15 minutes just to get them on? Let me know, did you have these and were they tough to lace up?
